About me

I'm Chhavi Yadav. My name is pronounced as ch-uh-v-ih y-ah-d-uh-v.

I'm a machine learning researcher, broadly interested in foundations of Trustworthy Machine Learning (ML). My topics of interest include (but not limited to) - explainability, 'certified' auditing, robustness and OOD generalization. I'm also very interested in biological applications of ML. In the past, I have worked on protein folding & Visual Q&A as well.

I'm a co-founder of The Trustworthy ML Initiative.

Currently, I'm a 3rd year PhD student in the Computer Science & Engineering Department at UC San Diego. I work with Prof. Kamalika Chaudhuri.

Before coming to UCSD, I received a Master's in Computer Science from the Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences, NYU. I was lucky to be advised by Léon Bottou and Prof. Narges Razavian.

I have spent some amazing time working at Walmart Labs, Udacity & Mercedes-Benz R&D in the past.

Please reach out if you have a cool idea and want to talk to me! I would love to collaborate. I also look forward to mentoring students who are interested in research.
